Acne And Blood Sugar

BLOOD SUGAR ISSUES CAN CAUSE ACNE.
How?
Let’s get into it.⬇️
.
So let’s first understand how blood sugar works. When one eats carbohydrates, insulin is the hormone we secrete from the pancreas so it can signal to our cells to absorb glucose properly. Our cells preferred source of energy is glucose, therefore we use glucose much faster than any other energy source. However, in times of stress, the body also produces stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline as a protective mechanism, raising blood sugar. In some instances, we can even raise DHEA (which is an androgen), parathyroid hormone and even prolactin- all in which have been correlated to an over production of sebum in the hair follicle at high levels.
.
Going back to the blood sugar point, when our blood sugar drops or raises dramatically and suddenly, it is very stressful on the system. So things like under eating or not eating frequently enough, over exercising, not pairing the right types of foods together to balance blood sugar can all drive insulin issues and have the body either increase stress hormones or burn through glucose at such a fast rate that it eventually will start tapping into your fat cells due to stress.
Now you’re probably thinking “Fat cells? BUT THAT’S GOOD.”
.
No, honey, no.
.
Fat cells don’t just contain “fat”, but can contain toxins, glucose, estrogen, and free fatty acids like polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAS) that can potentially be inflammatory to the system. In many cases, people who are struggling or have struggled with their health and have a history of eating industrial seed oils or have hormonal issues will most likely release PUFAS and excess estrogen. This can not only burden the liver, but also cause a lot of inflammation and oxidative stress, directly showing up the skin as they recirculate in the system.

Tips?
-Eat frequently (every 4 hours~)
-Eat a protein, carb and fat together at every meal.
-Go for a walk after meals.
-Prioritize easily digestible carbs life fruit and squash.
-Reach for bioavailable protein like meats, eggs, dairy.
-Opt for non industrial seed oils like olive oil, butter, ghee, avocado.
-Be mindful of stress triggers.
