If a Test Says You’re Fine but You Don’t Feel Fine… YOU’RE NOT FINE

JUST BECAUSE YOUR LAB SAY YOU’RE “IN THE RANGE” DOES NOT MEAN YOU’RE OKAY

It’s like saying “Well, just because my arm isn’t completely cut off doesn’t mean I need to go to the hospital”. Let’s re evaluate this
⬇️
‘Normal’ lab ranges are values that 95% of a healthy population falls into, yet in some cases, these ranges are created by accepting “the norm” amongst populations in which can technically include unhealthy individuals.
.
In addition, these ranges usually don’t regard the population research that accounts the association of certain ranges with risks for disease and mortality because there is still not enough evidence of a “cause and effect” link within ‘optimal’ levels of health.
.
Lastly, as much as we do not want to believe it, there will always be industry funded research behind certain studies which can directly impact these ranges of health, so sometimes we even have to ask ourselves if the range in itself makes any sense.
.
Due to these reasons, ‘normal’ lab values may not be the best in accounting for when trying to see where you’re at. In fact, because the ranges are much more broad than ‘optimal’ ranges, it can deter you from focusing on a potential problem before it gets too big to handle.

This isn’t to say ALL lab values are like this, but here are a few to reconsider like:
TSH
Vitamin D
Total Cholesterol
Fasting Blood sugar
Fasting Insulin
and more

In fact, some lab values via blood aren’t even that accurate and should be conducted through other forms of testing like HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) for heavy metals and mineral testing or DUTCH for hormone testing.
In the following days I will be sharing OPTIMAL lab ranges for hormones and why you should consider some functional lab work that are more narrow ranges that would be considered ranges of “health”. Anything higher or lower will indicate a warning sign before it gets too late.
Have you ever gone to the doctors, been told “everything is fine” when you don’t FEEL fine?
