The Cortisol Belly

Are you dealing with “stubborn” fat around your midsection?
🚫Fat is not bad, nor is weight around the mid section bad. Most of us are not meant to have “abs” all year round, if at all🚫
Now, let’s not even acknowledge it as “stubborn” but let’s look at it more as “protective”. Your body’s first place to storing extra energy is around the midsection because that is where most of our vital organs are. Fat, for the most part, is used as extra stored energy for moments of stress. In many cases, especially women who are dealing with hormonal issues, it is likely we all end up with something that looks like a bit of a tummy. This isn’t bad per say, but rather, it just goes to show how much our body is trying to work for US
.
Stress can do a number of thing like slow digestion, suppress thyroid hormone conversion, imbalance blood sugar, desensitize cells to insulin.
“But I am not that stressed!” Really? If you feel you aren’t mentally stressed, then ask yourself if you are dealing with other stressors that you might not even deem as “stressful”:
🔸️Ask yourself if you are SLEEPING?
Sleep is a reparative act for our bodies, and if we do not get adequate rest it starts to feel depleted. In fact, this is when growth hormone and luteinizing hormone surge at their highest. Our hunger hormones are also influenced by good sleep which directly influence our blood sugar
🔸️Are you balancing your blood sugar levels with a CARB and FAT and PROTEIN at every meal?
If you are dealing with blood sugar dysregulation, ask yourself how you are pairing your food together. Too high carb spikes insulin, where as too high protein drops your blood sugar too low. Conversely, fat helps with satiation. Other things can be at play, so read ahead

🔸️Are your minerals imbalanced?
Insulin resistance, hypoglycemia, chronic fatigue, crazy cravings can also go beyond blood sugar but can be a sign of a mineral imbalance. Remember, your body runs on enzymes and minerals CHARGE them

🔸️Are you possibly REACTING to a food that is stressing your body?
-This doesn’t necessarily have to be am allergy or obvious sensitivity. Sometimes it could look like arthritis, sinus infections, anxiety, etc.

🔹️Are you OVER EXERCISING or NOT eating enough?
If you’re your body is stressed it will HOLD ONTO that extra fat because it is afraid it won’t have energy to protect itself. Yes, exercise is a STRESS, but we would have to ask ourselves why is our body so sensitive in the first place?

FIX THESE FIRST AND THEN SEE THE MAGIC HAPPEN.
