Different Types of Nourishment

NUTRITION IS NOT JUST FOOD
Is food the only method to offering sustenance or nutrients for necessary growth, repair and stability? I would argue not
.
Nutrition can look like:
Sleep: Rest is needed to repair our bodies from the damage we instill through out the day, as well as acts as a method of detox for the glymphatic system (aka our brain)
.
Light: From sun in particular. Exposing ourselves to enough light and the right type of light is essential for hormones, regulating our circadian rhythm, and signaling to our microbiome
.
Grounding/Nature: Did you know that being out in greenery for only 30 minutes can completely shift our nervous system to a calmer state? In fact, when we put our feet to the actual ground (shoes off) we connect to the earth through free electrons that are transferred from the earth to us, recharging us. This can help beyond regulating our central nervous system, but also reduce pain and inflammation
.
Exercise: This is nutrition for our bones, muscles, lymphatic system, and for most people, our mental health. We are meant to be active creatures, thus any type of movement, whether it be breaking a sweat or not, is essential
.
Clean water: Typical tap water can contain up to 250 contaminants. We are 60% water, thus important to filter it as well as remineralize it! Remember, we run off of minerals that produce enzymatic reactions that are the sparkplugs to how our cells work and communicate!
.
Clean air:We spend over 90% of our time indoors, many places in which have poor ventilation and air circulation, as well as many homes experiencing some level of water damage, thus susceptible to mold. Add in toxic cleaning chemicals, inorganic furniture and pollution, and we’re basically intoxicating ourselves
.
Education/Knowledge: Ever heard of being “hungry to learn more”? We need stimulation and challenges to keep working our minds and help us stay intellectually sharp
.
Connection: We are social creatures, and one of the fundamentals of what we need as a species is love. Connecting with friends, family, significant others is essential
.
Laughter: They say it’s the best medicine, releasing endorphins, energy, stress and reducing inflammation.
