IS YOUR LIBIDO SHOT TO HELL?
.
This is one of the first things to go when your hormones are at an imbalance. Your libido is a sign that your body is prepared in conceiving, kind of like wanting to reproduce, and is an indicator of overall good health. Even if you aren’t planning on having kids, it’s STILL IMPORTANT.
But how do you get it back?
Well, ask yourself, why would it be low in the first place?
.
In many cases, our prime time of when our libido is high is usually when we’re just about to enter into our ovulatory phase as both estrogen and testosterone rise. When testosterone peaks, an egg is released ready to be fertilized, hence why our libido should be at its strongest. In some cases, if we produce adequate progesterone, we can maintain that level, for this hormone helps us relax and feel into our femininity. Thus, having a strong libido = a well nourished body.

Producing adequate hormones in order to ovulate and “light that fire” is a very energy intensive job for the body. This requires ADEQUATE FUEL, REST, and PROPER NUTRITION.
Keep in mind, doing all those 3 things but still pilling on stress won’t help! Remember, if your body doesn’t feel safe enough to bring in a child into this world, it won’t bother keep your sex life alive either.
.
How to go about this:
1. Eat enough calories. Most women need more than 2000 calories on average.
2. Do not over exercise.
3. Eat a minimum of 100g of protein (make sure some of it is bioavailable from animal sources).
4. Look at your surroundings, are you emotionally stressed? Are the people in your life supportive of you?
5. Check your environment. Pollution? Dirty air, water, xenoestrogens?
6. Are you on any medication? Birth control maybe? The pill has shown to deplete key nutrients and increase TBG (thyroid binding globulin) and SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) which I talk about in THIS post
.
In short, our libido is a sign in which we are well nourished and our body in itself does not feel the need to shut reproductive mechanisms to protect us.
